Kick Boxing/Muay Thai Classes

POW offers several different types of Kickboxing and Muay Thai classes. Most of the students that are interested in Kickboxing also take boxing classes. This provides a very well-rounded and intense training program. Each class offered on the schedule is different. We purposely structure all our classes differently to keep our students motivated. By designing several types of kickboxing/muay thai and boxing classes that cross-train the body, you are more likely to avoid injuries and achieve a balanced workout regiment conducive to martial athletic skills.

Muay Thai Workshop
This series of class will highlight five aspects of Muay Thai training. It will allow the practice of the 8 elements of MT, but allow its participants to hone these 5 skills before moving on.

Muay Thai Offensive Combos
After a comprehensive warm up, participants will find their partners and work explosive offensive combos. It will challenge any level of student because it will incorporate demanding pads work and require you to learn how to gauge distance and use your footwork to land your combos.

Muay Thai 101
This class will teach the foundation of Muay Thai, "The Art of the Eight Limbs.". It welcomes all levels. It will teach how this hard style of martial arts uses its elbows, knees, hands and feet for fighting. This class will break down how the sport works form the ground up.

Kickboxing Bag Training
This cardio-kickboxing interval class allows students to practice their kickboxing combinations on heavy bags. It is formatted like a fight with 2 minute rounds that are combined with intense plyometrics and sports drills. Sanctioned boxing gloves and wraps required, see our store for proper equipment.

Cardio Kickboxing
POW's cardio kickboxing do not teach different versions of the standard American Kickboxing techniques. However, this class will emphasis cardiovascular exercise. Students will keep their heart rate elevated throughout this class. POW's cardio kickboxing classes use heavy bags, mitts, ropes, medicine balls, weights, bosus and more. The goal is to keep this class exciting and motivating by offering you a surprise workout each time you come to the school. Expect to cross train the body. You may even feel like a kid during class because you will have so much fun.

Ringtime Kickboxing
This class follows the bell. Students engage in a series of kickboxing drills on pads or heavy bags in 2 minute intervals. Jump roping and body weight exercises are also a part of this class which helps to keep the heart rate up and build overall conditioning.
