POW's Youth Boxing is focused on teaching boxing fundamentals and developing the child's coordination and agility. We teach the basics of boxing including how to punch and block. However, there is much more to this class than the basic execution of jabs, hooks and uppercuts. We also teach our kids footwork, coordination and the importance of exercise. We incorporate many conditioning drills including calisthenics, sports drills and body weight exercises. Sparring is an optional component to this class and is left up to the parents to decide. We offer class on Saturdays at 10:00am to 10:45am with Katalin or Said. It is $110 for 8 classes or $90.00 for 5 classes.
We also have a class for Teenagers.
POW! now offers classes for that welcome teenagers (14- 17 years of age) on:
Wednesday at 4:45pm Boxing
Thursday at 3:45pm - Boxing
Saturday at 10:45am - Muay Thai Boot Camp - 15 to 17 years preferred.
We understand that it is often the teenager's responsibilty to get to class, but we also welcome parents to join in with them and train side by side.
One of POW's goals with young people is to teach the importance of an active life. We put each student on a structured fitness program that has built-in fitness goals. Inorder for a student to advance they must fullfill their fitness requirements. This is quite unique to POW's facility. Considering that most high school no longer require physical education, it is critical that young people are involved in regular activity. POW's classes are perfect for building confidence, losing weight, building strength, learning self-discipline, keeping healthy, becoming flexible, relieveing stress and most importantly learning how to defend yourself!
